Special Digital Exhibition: From Brutus to Brandt

The second special digital exhibition, which we had the privilege of creating for the Deutsche Bundesbank, is titled “From Brutus to Brandt – Coins as a Testament to Collective Memory”. Eight highlights from the Bundesbank’s coin collection are presented, demonstrating how historical events of world history were immortalized in the symbolism of coins.

A coin tells more than its minting
The Brutus aureus isn’t simply displayed — it’s embedded in its historical moment. An animated painting brings Caesar’s assassination to life and gives the coin a context that a museum label alone can’t provide.
History you can hear instead of just read
With every scene change, a matching audio piece starts automatically — a new feature compared to the first exhibition. The result is a rhythm of image, text and voice that carries the content instead of merely accompanying it.
The exhibition stays.
Digital exhibitions have one advantage over physical ones: they never close. “From Brutus to Brandt” is still accessible today — for school classes, researchers, and interested visitors worldwide. A project that doesn’t end when the last visitor leaves.
