Tomb of Ernst II of Saxony
Media Station
As part of the state and special exhibition “Early Renaissance in Central Germany. Power. Representation. Piety”, cura3D realized three interactive media stations for Kunstmuseum Moritzburg Halle (Saale). One focus was the digital presentation of the tomb of Ernst II of Saxony, located in Magdeburg Cathedral and therefore naturally impossible to include physically in the exhibition.
Between Place and Inaccessibility
A photogrammetric process was used to capture the tomb in high resolution. During this capture, an introductory video was also produced, explaining the architectural and historical context of the tomb in Magdeburg Cathedral. The virtual 3D model was then annotated with deeper information about the apostles and coats of arms depicted and transferred into an interactive application.
3D Reconstructionand Interpretation
Through photogrammetric capture, the tomb was digitized with high precision and reconstructed as a three-dimensional model.

Real Added Value for the Exhibition.
